FOB Salerno Afghanistan

Camp Salerno / Forward Operating Base Salerno, is located just north of Khowst. The facility was initially occupied by the 3rd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, and they named it for the beach head that the 505th parachuted onto on September 14, 1943. FOB Salerno is bigger than Orgun-E, but smaller than Kandahar. Camp Salerno is in the province of Khost, close to the border with Pakistan, where hundreds of Taleban and al-Qaeda fighters are believed to be hiding

The Clinic

My clinic in the hospital consists of: one dental chair, one dental assistant, one incredible light, and for all my wonderfull staff note the unit at the back of PFC Camacho. Its a suction, air, handpiece control unit all in one. of course the handpiece runs all the time non stop and the suction is only strong enough when the surgical suction tip is in. Yes drownings are frequent with fillings. Really makes you appreciate a good office. Miss you guys.....

We're totally surprised to find you in Afghanistan! But, we're not surprised by your loyalty, courage, and compassion to work beside the troops again. How cool that your pic gives us a chance to see your office...as humble as it may be. Shaner, we love you! Take care of yourself while you're taking care of everyone else!
